He spent his boyhood in Chile where he was recognized as a professional champion BMX Bike Racer. His travels with his family throughout Americas nourished his melodious ear with music from various cultures. Being immersed in music all his life naturally made him an aficionado at an early age. At 15, Charlie was promoting bands and performing as a musician. It was with Paradise that he fell in love with the magic of mixing; turn tables, and House Music. He delved into radio for RadioActiva Cali, returned to Bogota and secured a spot with Super Estereo 88.9FM, a high-ranking radio station in Colombia where he hosted student activities and mixing for the weekend party show. He remained there as he further excelled in his musical and entertainment career. After performing in television and radio commercials, his exposure as an MC led him to form Purpura Mobile Deejae, his very first enterprise that became among the most sought out mobile DJs in the country. He was invited to consult on various projects with Polygram Colombia, now Universal Music, and EMI Music. By 23 Charlie P had become a successful and experienced music entrepreneur. He was called to Sony Music’s marketing division where he worked closely with artists like Shakira Colombian super star, and also promoted artists like Aerosmith, Ricky Martin, Oasis, Gloria Estefan, and many more. During this time, Charlie P had the opportunity to visit prestigious venues throughout the world. He fulfilled one of his dreams when he moved to New York City to devote himself to the music and radio industry. There he worked alongside legendary DJs in prime clubs like The Tunnel, Roxy, Webster Hall, Flamingo and more. He became a pioneer in crossover style parties touring venues like Club New York, Monaco, Buddha Lounge, and Copa. In his early 30’s Charlie P returned to House Music throughout the East Coast. He has spent significant time as a guest DJ for premier venues and radio shows in the United States and Canada. Occasionally he works with renowned radio artist DJs and producers on special projects. Charlie P has found ultimate meaning in music all his life. He is grateful for all the passion and love music has brought him. In addition to working toward becoming a world class DJ for his own realization, he is compelled to make a difference. Charlie P is now embarking on new confidential ventures to expand the music and radio industry. For now he will keep us all guessing, but shares that it will benefit humanity.
